Alexis “Lexi” Ditzler, Senior Apprentice Midwife with Milestones Midwifery, Owner of Empowered Women’s Care LLC

Hello, I am Lexi Ditzler. I have been an apprentice midwife for nearly 8 years working and training with many area midwives. I am now a senior apprentice through Milestones Midwifery and am currently awaiting acceptance of final paperwork and to test for the Certified Professional Midwife credential through the North American Registry of Midwives.

Ever since I was a child I’ve been drawn to all things pregnancy and birth. I’ve felt I had a calling to midwifery since I was a young girl, and even then I had a passion for helping people. I have worked in various parts of the healthcare system for over 24 years. I entered healthcare in my teen years with the goal and calling to one day become a midwife. I began as a volunteer with a local EMS service working my way up and through school to become an EMT, LPN, and RN. Nearly eight years ago I made the choice to leave the hospital setting in pursuit of my passion and calling to become a homebirth midwife and for delivering care in a more personalized, family centered, and holistic way.

As a wife and mother of 4 amazing children, family is at the core of who I am and the care I provide. I love supporting families as they thrive and grow. I am passionate about educating women about their bodies and their health. I want women to leave my care feeling empowered and confident in their bodies and themselves.

Hello, I am Rachel Williston. I am a wife and mother to 3 boys, all born at home into my husbands or the midwife’s hands. I love to read and do so whenever I can grab a few minutes with a book. I have been a midwife for over 20 years. I have been to and worked in several different states and countries helping women birth, providing well woman care, and teaching women to become midwives. I am blessed to have caught over 650 babies and served 1000+ women. I have started and ran 2 different birth centers, have assisted with c/sections, and done lots of well woman care.

My joy is homebirth, and helping women learn how strong they are in the process of giving birth and becoming mothers. I believe that education is a vitally important part of midwifery care. My job is to teach and yours is to learn, so you can better make whatever decisions are best for you and your family.

I have been on the path of midwifery my whole life. Learning about natural healing and wellness, loving pregnant bellies, and seeing men become Dads and women become Mothers. So much joy in these moments!

This year I was a little surprised to receive my first graduation and wedding announcements for babies I’ve caught, this really put into perspective what midwifery has meant to myself and the families I’ve served over the years!

“Lexi was a soothing and reliable support during our birth experiences. My births didn’t go as I planned but she stood by us every step of the way. She helped me feel heard and stay calm even when I felt like everything was falling apart. She was such an important piece to our birth team. I’m so thankful we had her!” - Myndi L.
